Christmas gift guide for gamers 2026: ideas for every budget

Stocking fillers, desk upgrades, console extras and fan merch – a Christmas gift guide for gamers anywhere, linking to What2Buy's UK guides and our own Nightfandom shop.

It’s October, which means it’s officially acceptable to start thinking about Christmas – and if you’re buying for a gamer, starting early is the smart move. The biggest games of the year land in November, stock of popular accessories gets patchy in December, and small sellers need time to post. This guide is organised by budget and by the kind of gamer you’re buying for.

Disclosure: product picks in this guide are on our sister site What2Buy, a UK guide site that earns from some retailer links (its picks and prices are for UK shoppers, so if you live elsewhere, use them for ideas and buy locally), and the merch section links to Nightfandom on Etsy, a shop run by the same person as Binge Bulletin. We don’t list products or prices here – the linked guides and the shop are kept up to date. Full disclosure.

Stocking fillers and Secret Santa

The tiny-budget gift is the hardest to get right, which is why What2Buy has two guides dedicated to it (UK prices; roughly $10–25 / €10–25 elsewhere):

By platform

PlayStation

If they’ve got a PS5, start with What2Buy’s gifts for PS5 owners. Accessories are safer than games unless you know exactly what’s on their wishlist – and with Grand Theft Auto VI due worldwide on 19 November for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, there’s a good chance they’ve already bought the big one.

Nintendo Switch 2

Switch 2 owners are getting a busy November, with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake out worldwide on 5 November. Small extras make great gifts: see best Switch 2 accessories under £20.

PC

PC gamers are notoriously fussy about their kit, so the safest bets are comfort and quality-of-life upgrades rather than “the new mouse” they’ve already researched for six weeks. What2Buy’s best gifts for PC gamers has ideas at a range of prices.

By type of gamer

The streamer or creator

Lighting, mics and webcams are all upgrades a growing streamer will genuinely use. Start with best gifts for streamers and content creators.

The nostalgic one

For the person who still talks about the games of their childhood, a plug-and-play retro machine is a lovely Christmas Day gift – something the whole family can have a go on. See best retro consoles.

The League player

If they live in the Rift, What2Buy has a whole guide: gifts for League of Legends fans.

The teenager

Still time for an advent calendar if you’re quick – see best advent calendars for teenagers 2026.

The cosy gamer

Think comfort: a warm lamp, a blanket, a good mug. Our cosy gaming corner guide has more ideas for making their setup feel snug, with links to What2Buy’s lighting and seating guides.

Fan merch and handmade gifts

Not every gamer wants more tech. For fans who love a particular game, show or anime, merch from small makers can feel far more personal than anything from a big-box retailer. Our own shop, Nightfandom on Etsy, sells fan merch – have a browse and check current listings, prices and dispatch times there. And for anime fans specifically, our budget anime fan gifts guide has plenty of ideas that don’t involve our shop at all.

The free gift that always works

Time. Offer a co-op evening and actually commit to it. Our best co-op games for winter nights list has options for two players, for big family groups and for people who don’t usually game.

Last-minute tips

  1. Check their platform. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S accessories aren’t always interchangeable; Switch and Switch 2 accessories sometimes aren’t either.
  2. Digital codes are fine – but check the region. Store credit and game codes are usually tied to the country of the recipient’s account, so buy for their region, not yours.
  3. Order handmade gifts early. Small sellers post by hand, December post is slow and international shipping can add weeks – plus possible import fees.
  4. Keep receipts and check return windows. Many retailers extend returns over Christmas, but not all, and the rules vary by country.

Happy shopping – and may your gamer get the thing they actually wanted.
